DEVELOP THE FOUNDATION, RANGE, AND PRACTICAL SKILLS TO TEACH MEDITATION WITH CONFIDENCE

Teaching meditation well requires more than learning how to guide a basic practice.

Students bring different bodies, emotional histories, questions, goals, and ways of relating to meditation. A capable teacher needs a strong foundation in personal practice, clear and reliable teaching methods, an understanding of how mind and body shape our experience, and the practical skills to bring this work to others.

The Dharma Moon Full Track Meditation Teacher Training is our most extensive training program for aspiring meditation teachers.

Over the course of 13 months, you will move from the foundations of mindfulness and Buddhist practice through the essential skills of teaching individuals and groups. You will then expand your range through advanced training in loving-kindness meditation, Buddhist psychology, embodiment, and the business of teaching meditation.

The Full Track brings the 100-Hour Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Training and all four Advanced Meditation Teacher Training modules together in one program, leading to Advanced Certification through Dharma Moon and Tibet House US.

FROM FOUNDATIONAL TRAINING TO ADVANCED CERTIFICATION

The Full Track is designed for practitioners who already know they want to make a serious commitment to teaching meditation or incorporating it into their professional work.

The 100-Hour Training gives you the foundation needed to guide mindfulness meditation, work with individual students and groups, offer introductory classes, and communicate Buddhist teachings in a clear and accessible way.

The Advanced Training builds upon that foundation by helping you work more skillfully with the emotional, psychological, embodied, and professional dimensions of teaching.

Taken together, these programs provide a broad and integrated education in what to teach, how to teach it, how to respond to the people you serve, and how to create opportunities to share your work.

Through the Full Track, you will:

  • Establish a strong foundation in mindfulness meditation and Buddhist philosophy
  • Strengthen and deepen your own personal meditation practice
  • Learn how to guide meditation in both group and one-to-one settings
  • Practice teaching and receive direct feedback from experienced instructors and peers
  • Develop a clear method for structuring classes and giving dharma talks
  • Learn how to respond to common questions, obstacles, and challenges in meditation practice
  • Understand ethical boundaries, power dynamics, trauma awareness, and the responsibilities of a meditation teacher
  • Learn to teach Metta, or loving-kindness meditation
  • Explore Buddhist psychology and its application to meditation and everyday life
  • Develop a more embodied approach to practice and teaching
  • Learn how to market your work, find students, create programs, and build a sustainable teaching practice
  • Join a community of teachers committed to continuing their study, practice, and professional development

STUDENT FEEDBACK

"This program was incredible. As a student of meditation for years and a yoga teacher, this program offered me the tools necessary to teach meditation and to deepen my own practice."

"Since the training, I have led classes for healthcare providers to reduce burnout, countless meditation groups at the health clinics I have worked at (I'm a physician assistant), and at various therapy practices, nursing homes, and other locations. The training truly gave me the confidence and skills I needed to offer the practice more widely, and I am so thankful that I did it!"

"This training added a whole other facet to my coaching practice."

"There are many meditation teacher training programs out there and I'm so glad I chose this one. To me it felt grounded and rooted in truth and love. I feel like I was gifted with this knowledge and practice and am excited to go spread it out to others."

WHO SHOULD ENROLL IN THE FULL TRACK?

The Full Track is particularly well suited for:

  • Meditation practitioners who are serious about becoming teachers
  • Yoga instructors, therapists, coaches, educators, healthcare professionals, and community leaders who want to integrate meditation into their existing work
  • People who want to lead meditation groups, classes, workshops, retreats, or individual sessions
  • Practitioners seeking a structured and comprehensive way to deepen their study of meditation and Buddhism
  • Aspiring teachers who want training in both the contemplative and professional dimensions of teaching
  • People who value learning within a consistent community over an extended period of time

You do not need to have a fully developed teaching plan before enrolling. Many students discover where and how they want to teach as they progress through the program.

Because the Full Track is a substantial commitment, it is best suited for people with a sincere interest in teaching meditation or bringing meditation into their professional and community work. Those who are still exploring whether teaching is right for them may prefer to begin with the standalone 100-Hour Training.
