In this fun and lively foundational course, appropriate for beginners and more advanced practitioners, we will explore the background and method of mindfulness meditation—including the fundamental understanding and attitude that will help you establish a lasting and meaningful practice.

We will cover the Frequently Asked Questions that many of us ask about mindfulness—learning how to move beyond struggle and procrastination—and get into this transformative practice.

Establishing your practice means having the right understanding and attitude. We can call this having the ‘right view’.

Right view is like the hub of a wheel – if it is off center it will throw the spokes out of alignment and the wheel cannot function properly. The same is true of your mindfulness practice.

Class 1: June 23rd – Introduction to the mindfulness practice
Class 2: June 30th – Inviting gentleness and friendliness
Class 3: July 7th – Applying precision to the view and technique of mindfulness
Class 4: July 14th – Letting go of outdated thoughts and habits that no longer serve us

WHAT OUR STUDENTS ARE SAYING:

"Taking this course has allowed me to realize perhaps one of the best gifts I’m able to give myself. After taking up a daily practice and working on the skills presented in the course, I’m finally making a habit of being gentle with myself. I can remind myself that it’s okay to be teammates with that part of me that, previously, I tried to push aside or ignore.

I’m finding that more often than not, I’m also able to extend that gentleness and kindness to others and it’s becoming second nature. I very much recommend the foundations course to anyone looking for a bit more lightness in their lives."

- Trent Sartain - Foundations of Mindfulness Participant

"This foundations course was great! I heard David say on a podcast once that there are so many intro to meditation classes out there and it can end up feeling like a lot of “first dates.” This foundations class definitely strengthened my relationship to my meditation practice, made me feel more confident in my posture and technique, and deepened my base of knowledge to draw from.

The support of the online curriculum and community, as well as our humorous, honest, and grounded classes/group helped me stick with my daily practice. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone who is wanting to build their personal practice or dip a toe into the idea of attending a teacher training."
