In Tibetan Buddhism, there is an ancient practice called lungta, or Windhorse.

Its central image is of a mythical flying horse representing a vital life force or energy we can harness to face life's challenges — personal, communal, and even societal.

These simple but powerful exercises allow us to cut through layers of doubt, fear, and hesitation and invite the magic of our world and the melody of circumstances to manifest right on the spot.

Join Buddhist teacher David Nichtern and the Dharma Moon teaching team for a special online session about windhorse practice and the upcoming in-person Dharma Moon Windhorse Retreat at the Menla Retreat Center in Phoenicia, New York on May 1st - May 5th, 2024

At the session, David and the DM team will present an overview of the retreat program, windhorse practice, as well as answer your questions regarding content, activities, lodging, and preparations for this special event.

This is the first opportunity, since the founding of Dharma Moon three years ago, to offer our international community of thousands of meditators a chance to gather in person, embodied and breathing the same air, eating great food, taking walks in the beautiful natural setting of the Menla retreat center in upstate NY, and just having the precious opportunity to hang out in real time and share space together.

And if you aren’t able to make the retreat in person, you won’t have to miss out. You can join us virtually for significant portions of the program through the online simulcast.

If you’re considering attending, please join us for this special opportunity to see if this retreat might be just what the doctor ordered.
