One-on-one teaching is one of the most powerful and effective ways to guide students on their meditation journey.

Students can learn the basics of meditation from an app or a YouTube video. They can take a course online or attend a class at their local center. But one-on-one sessions offer something unique: personalized guidance, direct feedback, and the kind of accountability that leads to real transformation.

Yet, many meditation teachers hesitate to take on private students—not because they don’t see the value, but because they don’t know how. Because they worry they aren’t “qualified.” Because they aren’t sure how to structure sessions, set boundaries, or make private teaching sustainable.

Join Ethan Nichtern, author and senior Buddhist teacher, for a free live session exploring the essential skills for working one-on-one with students. Whether you’ve been teaching for years or are just starting to consider private students, this session will give you practical insights into the art and ethics of private teaching—and how it can be a meaningful and sustainable part of your livelihood.

We'll also discuss Ethan's upcoming Eye-to-Eye: Working with Private Students meditation teacher training beginning April 3rd, 2025, offering Dharma Moon MMTT grads a comprehensive introduction to the art of working one-to-one with students. You’ll get an overview of the program, have the chance to ask questions, meet Ethan, and see if the Eye-to-Eye Meditation Teacher Training is right for you.

We hope to see you there!
