CREATIVITY, SPIRITUALITY & PROSPERITY: THE EIGHT-FOLD PATH
with DAVID NICHTERN &
LARRY MERMELSTEIN
Wednesdays, January 24th – February 28th, 2024 | 7pm – 9pm ET
It may seem like studying the Buddhist teachings removes us from everyday life and directs our minds and hearts toward esoteric contemplations and sublime, transcendent states of being.
But when we study the teachings in depth, we might come to a different conclusion.
In this new six-week online series, Buddhist teachers David Nichtern and Larry Mermelstein will discuss the inseparability of creative expression and spiritual practice, as well as the eightfold path - including right view, intention, speech, discipline/morality, livelihood, effort, mindfulness, and meditation/samadhi and other foundational Buddhist topics.
The course will reference Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche's early and powerful work, The Myth of Freedom, and David's own book, Creativity, Spirituality & Making a Buck.
This course will feature a mix of readings, lectures, and discussions led by David and Larry. The course will also incorporate practices drawn from their training with Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche. All levels of experience are welcome!
